M.2 Interface
The Rhino Pi IQ9N (Rhino Pi IQ9N) provides 1 M.2 Key-M slot and 2 SATA III interfaces, and also reserves a Micro SD card slot, meeting the multi-drive storage requirements of AI NAS scenarios.
Interface Specifications
For the positions of the M.2 and SATA interfaces on the board, see the interface layout diagram in Rhino Pi IQ9N Interface Description on the first page.
| Interface Type | Quantity | Bus | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| M.2 Key-M | 1 | PCIe 4.0 x4 | Supports NVMe SSD |
| SATA III | 2 | USB 3.0 (5 Gbps) → 2 x SATA 3.0 (6 Gbps) | Exposed via a USB 3.0 to SATA bridge chip |
| Micro SD | 1 | SD3.0 / SDR104 (4-bit) | Dual-level capable, used for storage expansion |
Complete Device Storage Solution
In the complete AI NAS solution, the storage configuration is as follows:
- System and cache: M.2 Key-M NVMe, 2TB capacity
- Data drives: supports 2 x SATA SSD
- Slot design: must be a cold-swap slot with a damping effect
Viewing Disk Information
After inserting a drive, you can use the following commands to view block devices:
bash
lsblkView partitions and file system usage:
bash
df -hView detailed SATA / NVMe device information:
bash
sudo lshw -class diskNotes
- Before installing an M.2 drive, disconnect the device power to avoid damage from hot plugging.
- The M.2 Key-M slot carries PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe signals, so make sure the drive specification matches the slot bus type.
