IP Address Confirmation

Before using SSH, SCP, or Web login, you need to confirm the IP address of the Rhino Pi IQ9N.

Using the ip Command

bash
ip a

The address following inet in the output is the interface IP. For example:

text
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state UP group default qlen 1000
    link/ether 00:11:22:33:44:55 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
inet 192.168.1.100/24 brd 192.168.1.255 scope global dynamic eth0

Where:

  • eth0 is the wired port and 192.168.1.100 is the wired network IP.
  • wlan0 is the wireless port; after connecting to Wi-Fi you can likewise check the IP through the inet field.

Using the hostname Command

bash
hostname -I

Using the nmcli Command

View the network connection status and IP:

bash
nmcli dev show

Viewing the Public IP

If the device can reach the internet, you can query the egress IP with the following command:

bash
curl ifconfig.me

FAQ

  • No IP address: confirm that the network cable is connected or that Wi-Fi is connected; you can run nmcli dev status to check the interface status.
  • IP conflict: confirm that there is no duplicate static IP configuration on the subnet.
