CPU Performance Settings
The Rhino Pi IQ9N is equipped with an octa-core Kryo Gen 6 CPU, and the CPU operating mode can be adjusted according to power and performance requirements.
Hardware Parameters
| Item | Parameter |
|---|---|
| CPU | Octa-core Kryo Gen 6 (Octa-core @ 2.36 GHz), DMIPS up to 227 K |
| GPU | Adreno 663 @ 800 MHz |
| NPU | 100 TOPS |
Viewing CPU Information
View the number of cores and the model:
cat /proc/cpuinfoView the current operating frequency of each core (the value is in kHz):
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freqView the maximum operating frequency (the value is in kHz):
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/cpuinfo_max_freq
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy4/cpuinfo_max_freqIn testing, both outputs are 2361600, that is, 2.36 GHz.
Viewing and Setting the Frequency Scaling Policy
The 8 CPU cores of the IQ9N are divided into two frequency scaling policy groups: policy0 (CPU 0-3) and policy4 (CPU 4-7), and must be specified separately when setting.
View the available frequency scaling policies:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_governorsThe device uses the schedutil policy by default; in testing the command above outputs powersave ondemand userspace performance schedutil.
View the current policy:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governorSet to performance priority mode:
sudo bash -c "echo performance > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/scaling_governor"
sudo bash -c "echo performance > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy4/scaling_governor"Set to power saving priority mode:
sudo bash -c "echo powersave > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/scaling_governor"
sudo bash -c "echo powersave > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy4/scaling_governor"Restore the default balanced mode:
sudo bash -c "echo schedutil > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/scaling_governor"
sudo bash -c "echo schedutil > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy4/scaling_governor"Note
The settings above are not retained after a reboot. At boot, the sysfsutils service writes schedutil to policy0 and policy4 according to /etc/sysfs.d/50-dragonwing-defaults.conf; modify that configuration file if you need the change to persist.
Viewing Temperature and Load
View the temperature:
cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone*/tempThe output value is in millidegrees Celsius, for example 52500 means 52.5 °C. The device contains multiple temperature sensors (thermal zones; 62 in total on this device in testing), which can be read individually.

topPower Consumption Reference
| State | Power Consumption |
|---|---|
| Standby | 5W |
| AI workload | 20W |
| Maximum power consumption | 50W |
Notes
- Performance priority mode increases power consumption and heat generation; ensure good cooling conditions during long periods of high load. For how to connect the fan, see Fan Connector.
